Southern Highlands 3 days

Itinerary

Starting from Quito

Day 1.
From Quito we travel south along the Pan-American Highway towards the Cotopaxi National Park, where you'll have the opportunity to make a short hike around the Limpiopungo Lake at 3,800 m while enjoying the wonderful highlands of this area. Wonder with the view of the impressive snow-capped Cotopaxi, one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. Stay overnight in a charming local hacienda. Dinner.

Day 2.
On the second day of our tour, we'll visit Zumbagua, one of the most unspoiled highland areas of Ecuador. We´ll then head to the volcanic lake of Quilotoa to observe this amazing lake. In the afternoon we'll arrive in Baños, a picturesque city located at the gateway to the jungle, where we will stay overnight. Dinner.

Day 3.
After breakfast, we'll drive to Riobamba, before continuing to San Juan and then to the upper highlands of Chimborazo, Ecuador's highest volcano. Here it is possible to observe graceful vicuñas and there will be time to admire this impressive mountain. If in good shape perhaps we can do a walk up to the Whymper refuge at 5,000 m. Drive back to Quito. Dinner.
